FAQ when Visiting Big Surf for the First Time๐ŸŒŠ

We're thrilled that you're planning to visit the best waterpark in mid-Missouri and we know you may have a few questions. Big Surf has provided some answers to frequently asked questions about visiting our park. Take a look and if you have further questions, give our Lake of the Ozarks waterpark a call!

Q. Do You Offer Discounts for Multiple Visits?
Absolutely, and now it’s easier than ever, and without any obligation on your part. We've introduced the Second Wave Program. Here’s how it works: visit the park, purchase an all-day pass, and come back any time this season – the next day, the next week, sometime in late August, whenever works for you, there are no restrictions – and get in for half price. Just keep your receipt and save 50%. It’s as simple as that. Of course, if you intend to come back again and again (and why wouldn’t you?) your best bet is to purchase a Season Pass. In addition to making huge savings on tickets, you also get other exclusive benefits at other businesses around the Lake.

Q. Do you offer a military discount?
Well, let’s see. Is it still called a “discount” if it’s completely free? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Big Surf is proud to honor our country’s servicemen and women by offering all active military personnel free and unlimited admission to our park, all season long. It’s just our little way of saying thanks for all that they do. Just bring current military ID to qualify. In addition, we offer a 20% discount to all immediate family members of military personnel with their dependent IDs.

Q. Do you have any pavilions or cabanas that can be rented?
We have both. For small groups, we have ten cabanas located throughout the park that can be rented for $75 for the entire day. These are cool and shady and offer some privacy, too. You can either buy one at the door when you buy your tickets or purchase one ahead of time online. (This is always a good idea for weekends.)

For larger groups we have a stand-alone pavilion and also several other shaded structures that can be reserved for your party. Contact our group sales by email at info@bigsurfwaterpark.com or call (573) 346 6111 to discuss group options and possibilities.

Q. Do you have life jackets available? If so, how much are they to rent?
Yes, lifejackets are available in all sizes, from infant to adult. They are provided at various points throughout the park and they are free of charge.  (Please do not leave the park with your Big Surf life jacket on!) You are welcome to bring your own life jackets as long as they are approved by the U.S. Coast Guard - look at the stamp inside the life jacket to verify!

Q. Can we bring coolers into the park for our lunch?
We usually ask that no food or drink is brought into the park but we've recently updated this policy to create a safer environment for our customers and staff. Visit our website for a complete description of our outside food policy, but for now, it is allowed.

Q. Are we able to leave and get back in without paying if we go outside to eat?
Once you have purchased your day pass you may come and go as often as you like.

Q. Can we bring in our own tubes to use in to the park?
No. We only allow Coast Guard approved flotation devices into the park which we have available inside the park.

Q. How can I know if you’re open or closed because of the weather?
You can always call us at (573) 346-6111 and see what’s going on or check Big Surf Waterpark’s, Facebook Page for updates.

If the weather has been bad earlier in the day it’s always a good idea to check if we’re open. Because we employ so many people, we’re forced to make a call early each morning about the weather so we can notify our lifeguards and other staff about coming to work. Sometimes a day starts badly, and then – after we’ve made the decision to close – the sun comes out, and it warms up nicely. But once the decision is made, it has to stay made because our staff goes off and does other things. So if in doubt, please check.

Q. I know you have to be at least 48 inches tall to ride the Zambezi Falls and the Space Bowl. Can I take my 3 year-old down the other rides if he rides in my lap?
Your family’s safety is our number one priority, and so we do have a few rules to make sure everyone stays safe. Children are allowed to ride down the following adult rides and attractions with a parent:

  • Wave Pool
  • Lazy River
  • Open yellow slide on the Challenger Flumes

All other rides should be ridden alone. Of course, one of the best places for your 3-year-old will be Tropical Splash Island, which has been designed especially for our younger guests. This is a zero-entry pool with all sorts of fun things to keep kids entertained, from mini slides to a water teeter-totter and squirting animals!

Now that we've answered some FAQ's about visiting Big Surf, you're ready to start planning your trip to the best waterpark in Missouri! We can't wait to provide a fun and friendly place for you & your family to create new memories together.
